No More Apple Events This Year - Mark Gurman

Apple’s media blitzes are done for 2021, according to Mark Gurman, in his latest 'Power On' newsletter.

In his latest report, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has expressed that he “wouldn’t expect a third event this year or any other major announcements”, his justification being that “if Apple had any more Macs to launch this year, they would have announced them this past week”, adding “There's really nothing else left of substance in the road map that would be ready for 2021.”

The next products we’ll be seeing from Apple may include “a larger Apple Silicon iMac, new Mac mini, new iPhone SE and new iPad Pro” all of which would directly compete with the products that have been released in only the last 5 months.

Apple has already hit production snags over the pandemic and in the months coming out of it, and releasing more products would only hinder the company getting back to its normal supply chain routine.

Although we may not see a third Apple Event this year, we will see smaller, press release products like new watch bands and more. Nothing else is rumoured to be ready and all of Apple’s major announcements (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, AirPods) have already happened. That being said, it would not be surprising to see another March-April event in the Q1 of 2022 similar to what we saw this year with products like the MacMini, possible AirTag updates and more being announced at the event.
